The Leaf Plate - Sgrafitto #4

A simple flat plate with a straight edge, decorated with a patterned white slip.  These plates are carved using a method called Sgraffito; a decorating technique that evolved in the 10th century, derived from the Italian term meaning "scratched".

Homemade reclaim clay. Olive Celadon and Buttermilk glazes. Gas reduction firing to cone 10.
